M y husband and I were on a camping trip that would take us to Victor Harbour, Flinders Rangers, Arka roola, Mutawingi and Menindee. I had one day in our tight schedule that I could fit in a dive. No dive gear with me, just my camera. I had rang Peter the week before, he was so helpful reorganising his week for me so I could dive on the Monday.

At Victor Harbour the ocean conditions were rough. I expected to get a call to say the dive was cancelled. Next morning, we made the 40 minute drive from Victor Harbour to Second Valley and met Peter, Ilona and Oscar! I had to hire all my gear and we quickly got organised. I was impressed with new hire gear and it was all very comfortable. Getting down to Rapid Bay jetty I was pleasantly surprised at the conditions, being protected from the swell and winds that we had battered Victor Harbour. My husband, Chris went to launch his sea kayak while we geared up for the dive. Peter also supplies a little cart for easy transfer of gear out to the jetty. There were a few fishermen “squidding” obviously locals with a good relationship with
