These efforts came together in 2024 with the launch of Ocean Week Brunei. Created in partnership with the Department of Fisheries under the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, the event brought together youths, businesses, organizations, policymakers, and the public in a week-long celebration of the ocean. From coral planting and reef building to forums and exhibitions, it served as a national platform for action and collaboration. Following the momentum of its inaugural edition, Ocean Week Brunei 2025 is back with 13 events across 2 months, from 3 May to 29 June 2025. Organised in partnership with the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, including the Department of Fisheries, Forestry Department, and Tourism Department, this year’s theme, “Beneath the Waves: Careers and Creativity in the Deep,” aims to inspire new ways of connecting with and protecting the ocean. New flagship events will include the Brunei Ocean Exhibition (BEX), and the Brunei Ocean Shootout (BOSH), celebrating underwater photography and storytelling. The program will feature Brunei’s largest coral planting initiative, the deployment of 100 reef balls, an Ocean Sustainability Conference, and youth-focused events like the
