DIVE LOG AUSTRALASIA FEB 2025 ISSUE 410
submersible at one thousand metres deep and watching the silent world for a few minutes in time. Todd says that it made him feel so insignificant in the big wide underwater world. After twenty-five years of travelling the world, he has written his debut book ‘Ultimate Dive Sites’ in the hope that it will inspire readers to explore and care for the ocean. Published by Hardie Grant books, it is due for release in late January 2025. Todd has literally dived everywhere during his twenty-five years as a scuba diver and so he is well qualified to author a book about the world’s ‘ultimate dives’, which include wrecks, corals, shark encounters and even macro photo dives. Each location has useful information including qualifications needed, how to get there, photo and equipment tips. A great example is diving within the world’s largest wetland, the Pantanal in Brazil. The target species here is the Green Anaconda. The Pantanal wetlands are a wildlife watcher’s dream with better wildlife sightings than the more famous Amazon. Many dive locations around the world are included in the book. It is a great resource for libraries, dive boats and adventurers in general. With stunning imagery that you’d expect to find in the pages of National Geographic combined with Todd’s experience from 25 years of diving the world, this book is an incredible resource for both divers and ocean lovers alike.
