Todd Thimios’ Ultimate dive sites

M any of us dream of diving our way all around the world. Reality sets in and very few of us actually do it.Todd Thimios managed to find a way to live this dream. . He worked as a diving instructor for ten years in Vanuatu and Lord Howe Island before going on to become a private dive guide on superyachts.

Although he found that most divers wanted to see as much as possible, Todd’s favorite diving activity was staying in one place. He spent the time observing how fish and corals live in symbiosis. Doing many dives in the same dive location allowed him to get a better picture of how the ecosystems survive together and how fragile they are. Most of the oceans remain unexplored. There is so much more to discover, observe and explore. Realising the fact that we know so little about the ocean drove Todd to build up his skill set. He underwent further training as a technical diver and submersible pilot. He developed all of the necessary skills and training to help his exploration in as many situations as possible. These skills include cave diving, Arctic diving in Dry Suits, and Freediving. When piloting the submersible, he managed to practice the same philosophy of pausing the
