The house reef is fully protected from fishing and has rich fish biodiversity
easily. That is, most of the time! After this high drama, I noticed a stunning bright blue Steep Headed parrotfish that was sleeping in a cocoon of mucous in a tight little coral crevice. Most of the time, they are deep enough into the protection of the coral to prevent photography. They provide no direct line of sight
for camera and strobes. This time, I was able to get a couple of shots including the slimy sleeping bag. Sleeping parrotfish have long been a favourite tropical nighttime photo subject. Research has shown that the most likely source of the slimy mucous sleeping bag is obtained from the coral
