DIVE LOG Australasia
Cathie Cummins Hello fellow DiveLoggers! And welcome to my Spotlight this month. Living in Cairns definitely has its advantages, The Great Barrier Reef is my backyard. I have just spent a week on Mike Ball Dive Expedition – Spoilsport , exploring some old favourite dive sites and some new ones. The Ribbon Reefs are truly outstanding quality diving and an opportunity to get out on a 7-night trip is such a thrill. I use a Nikon Z50 with the wide-angle wet lens with two Sea and Sea YS-D3 strobes in a Nauticam Housing. This system is supported by Scubapix here in Cairns for servicing and additions. I love the flexibility of the wide-angle wet lens on this camera, I can easily remove this lens, enabling me to capture a portrait of a smaller critter or two. The more photos you take, the more you learn. And I’m happily learning. They say the first 10,000 photos are your worst, I’m well past that number now - that’s learning for you! Please enjoy my handful of photos showcasing how gorgeous and healthy the Great Barrier Reef is looking. I am looking forward to heading to the Go Diving show in Sydney September 28 and 29, with Dr Terry Cummins and Dive Queensland. I hope to meet you there, please drop by our booth and say hello and ask about our Great Barrier Reef. Or better still, just come on up and check out the diving with our dive operators.
