Diveplanit Travel invites North American divers down under
Diveplanit exhibited once again at DEMA Show in November 2024, the world’s largest dive industry expo. The team showcased the Great Barrier Reef and Australia’s best diving destinations with a line up of seminars and is happy to report a huge increase in interest diving down under. The Diveplanit team shared their expertise on the Great Barrier Reef, a journey from North to South of over 2000 km, including a reef health update following this year’s global mass bleaching event, and showcased Australia’s Great Eight – our very best marine encounters, from minke whales to leafy sea dragons. The show generated over 180 enquiries about diving Australia and the Great Barrier Reef, with over 30 large dive clubs asking to book dive charters on the Reef and extending their stay to visit the Cairns hinterland and other parts of Australia including the Southern Great Barrier Reef, Sydney, South Australia and the Ningaloo Reef. Diveplanit co-founder Deborah Dickson-Smith was assisted by Divers Den Course Director Charlotte Barbosa in a series of well-attended seminars on the Great Barrier Reef and other Australian diving destinations. Seminars focussed on Australia’s unique marine experiences, our world-class sustainable marine tourism management practices and the success of citizen science programs such as Eye on the Reef and the Great Reef Census. “We were delighted with the response to our seminars, a program of five in total, all of which were well attended, and generated a lot of interest in booking trips down under,” said Deborah.
“We fielded dozens of questions about the health of the Reef, with our audience delighted to hear how well the Reef was being monitored and managed, and how much the Australian marine tourism operators do to help protect the marine environment they showcase to the world.” Diveplanit curated a collection of Australian DEMA Show Group specials, with exclusive discounts and generous tour leader allowances, that include easy add-ons to a Great Barrier Reef experience to explore the Daintree Rainforest and Sydney – above and below water, as well as packages for Ningaloo Reef, 1770 and private minke whale charters. The team will be showcasing diving in Australia again at DEMA Show in November this year in Orlando FL. and at the LA Scuba Show in Long Beach CA in late May. www.diveplanit.com
