DIVE LOG AUSTRALASIA FEB 2025 ISSUE 410

Above: Shark feeding is a perfect way to get up close and personal with sharks. You can learn about their behaviour and see such things as pecking order, the female dominated population. You can see that these Grey Reef sharks are interested in the free fish and ignore the divers. I observe that they take turns at feeding in an orderly fashion. This shark feed is at North Horn, Osprey Reef in the Coral sea. Below: Sub Adult Grey Nurse sharks seek the safety and protection of the cave at South West Rocks in the early summer, possibly to seek safety from predators. These sharks are fish eating sharks and are safe to dive with as long as you extend them the courtesy of their own personal space and move slowly.
