420 Dive Log Australasia OCTOBER 2026
Let’s explore some of the basic ideas of the Theory of Evolution. The most basic concept in evolution is that individuals can change and evolve over time.
All four Big Bellied Sea Horses are from Botany Bay. All have a unique pattern of spots that can be used to identify them over time. They can change their colour slowly to help their camouflage. The female one on the top left was photographed in 2007, living proof that it survived at least ten years in Botany Bay.
VARIATION No two individuals are identical. Every individual differs from every other in a million ways. Each Sea Horse has a unique pattern of spots, for example.
