Underwater Photo competitions Photo competitions certainly force you try to excel.Your inner ‘Wannabee’comes out and you think, I ‘wanna’win a photo comp! Budding underwater photographers admire the skill behind good photography and try to emulate it. It is one of the great forms of art. There are many benefits to entering photo competitions including the chance to win a trip somewhere exotic. I believe underwater photography to be the most difficult of all types of photography. One of the best ways to improve is to study and analyse successful underwater photographers and then
try to work out how they got the shot. This is where the inner ‘Try hard’comes into play. The reward is proportional to the amount of effort you make.You need to open up a can of ‘Try Hard’and have a go! I used to enter underwater photographic competitions and I did win a couple of prizes.You have to have total focus as a competition photographer. Every photo you take is potentially for a competition and it tends to dominate your mindset. I have seen underwater photographers jostling for position near a rare photo opportunity. Don’t get in their way! You might get an elbow on your melon! On the other hand, dive operators would never get divers to go diving if there were no underwater photographs to show off the beauty and alluring magnificence of the ocean.
