419 Dive Log Australasia AUGUST 2026

Life at the resort Wakatobi is renowned for its highly successful legacy of reef conservation. It is the torch bearer for future resorts to show them the way to run a successful resort based on conservation and service. The dive resort is profession and runs smoothly. The highly experienced dive staff come from all sorts of exotic locations, many with decades of diving in the world’s best places. They all love to dive at Wakatobi. Service is what the owners, Lorenz and Valentin, feel is their main strength. Every aspect of the resort strives to provide the best possible service. On day one, every staff member knows your name. It is a little overwhelming when you cannot recall the names of the many staff that you meet. The one constant here is that you are always greeted with a genuinely friendly smile and a “Hello, Mike”.

Guests have made comments such as “ I am not used to being treated so well.” The restaurant provides the best, healthiest food. Every meal had plenty of choices and you can even ask for an a la carte service breakfast, if you need. Every visit to the dining area is an Excursion into fine dining. Some guests have compared it to the best restaurants. I would absolutely agree. The gardens are meticulously manicured every morning. Tropical flowers are abundant, the bird life is wonderful. Your bungalow or villa is spacious, luxurious and serviced daily. Each is designed so that it affords total privacy from your neighbour. Wakatobi is most definitely a model dive resort that is showing the way for the future. Guests enjoy absolute luxury and privacy, excellent diving and the highest level of service.

Several 25 metre long, phinisi dive boats are at anchor on the wharf. They are built at the beach a fwe hundred metres from the resort
