Malaysia hosts Two Amazing Successful Diveheart Event with PADI Adaptive on Accessible Tourism for Asia Region.
Stories of Courage: Diveheart Malaysia For 2024 Diveheart Malaysia is Proud to Present Muham mad Afkar Daniel a 10 year old Right Hand Amputee Adap tive Diver who was Trained for personally by Uncle Syed of Kids Scuba and has successfully completed his PADI Junior Open Water Course. Muhammad Afkar was a Paediatric Patient from University Malaya Medical Center UMMC and is the 1st Hand Amputee PADI Junior Open Water Diver for Persons with Disability in the region. Breaking Barrier and Diving Deep. Another Special Diver was 28 year old Nabilah Mohd Azahar aka Bella, a right leg amputee, Bella Journey with a Di ploma in Tourism that featured Scuba Diving has since progressed to a PADI Divemaster Trainee DMT. During her Industrial Training in Curacao in the Carribean , she Suffered severe Injuries when she was struck by a Boat Propeller. However, Bella Unwavering dedication and com mitment to her dreams shines Through again after she Met Uncle Syed of Diveheart to restart her underwater Journey and after few pool Scuba Adaptive Training, she successfully did her open water diving experience again after her Traumatic diving accident in 2021. Diveheart Malaysia would like to thank all our col laborative partners, Dedicated volunteers, and our honoured guests for a triumph event. We hope this event raises awareness on Persons with Disability involving accessible tourism in Ma laysia. Diveheart Malaysia 2nd Event in October 2024 was held in Tioman Island, Malaysia to participate in
October 2024, Diveheart Malaysia in collaboration with Mimpi Perhentian Resort Terengganu, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture MOTAC Terengganu, University Malaya Medical Centre UMMC, Rotary Club and University Malay sia Terengganu UMT successfully completed Diveheart An nual event Hosted by Mimpi Resort Perhentian island in Terengganu from 7th to 9th October. We welcomed 10 stu dents from Special Hearing-Impaired School, Sekolah Ke bangsaan Pendidikan Khas Besut, Terengganu to participate in the auspicious Event. Despite living close to the coastal area of Besut, most of the Special students have never stepped foot on a boat, let alone to an island. This gives them the opportunity to enjoy a short holiday with their teachers while discovering how it feels to be underwater feeling Zero Gravity, snorkelling and scuba diving while learning more about the marine life. A special Eco Marine sharing session Dr Farah, lecturer En vironment & Marine Pollution from UMT provided insight on the importance of conserving ECO marine life to the special Students.
